Comprehensive cancer treatment
We offer personalized cancer treatments, with a multidisciplinary team that analyzes each case and provides options such as surgery, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, or chemotherapy, depending on each patient's needs.
Multidisciplinary care for prostate cancer
Each year, around 1,000 men in Costa Rica are diagnosed with prostate cancer. Although it is one of the most common types of cancer among men, the good news is that survival rates are very high with timely diagnosis and treatment. At the Center for Cancer and Hematology, we offer comprehensive, personalized care for every patient, combining state-of-the-art technology with a multidisciplinary medical team.
Breast Cancer Care Program
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Costa Rican women.
At the Cancer and Hematology Center, we provide comprehensive care, utilizing specialists and state-of-the-art technology to offer personalized treatment. Depending on the specific case, treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, or a combination of these options, supporting each patient through every stage of their care.
Gynecologic Oncology Care Program
Gynecologic cancers affect a woman's reproductive organs and, in many cases, do not present symptoms in the early stages. At the Cancer and Hematology Center, we have gynecologic oncology specialists who provide timely diagnosis and personalized treatment based on the type and stage of the disease.
Gastrointestinal Cancer Care Program
Our Gastrointestinal Cancer Care Program treats patients with malignant tumors of the stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, esophagus, pancreas, and liver. We have surgeons specializing in these types of tumors, as well as a team of medical oncologists and radiation oncologists who determine the ideal treatment plan for each patient based on the characteristics and stage of their cancer.
Hematologic Cancer Care Program
The Hematologic Cancer Care Program offers treatment to pediatric and adult patients with all types of blood cancer, including leukemias, multiple myeloma, and lymphomas. It also treats patients with aplastic anemia and other bone marrow disorders. When necessary, our hematology specialists perform bone marrow tests to diagnose these conditions.
Thyroid Cancer Care Program
Each year, around 700 Costa Ricans are diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Most of these cases are treated by removing the thyroid gland through a surgery known as a thyroidectomy. At the Cancer and Hematology Center, we have surgeons who are experts in this procedure and also offer transoral thyroidectomy, which allows for the removal of the gland without leaving a scar on the patient's neck.
Advanced (Metastatic) Cancer Care Program
Metastasis occurs when cancer cells spread from the original tumor to other parts of the body. At the Cancer and Hematology Center, we design personalized treatments to control the disease, alleviate symptoms, and improve each patient's quality of life. We also offer advanced genomic testing that analyzes tumor DNA to identify targeted therapies and guide more precise treatment decisions.
Care options based on your situation
Surgery allows for the removal of damaged tissue and the tumor, always aiming to preserve the patient's quality of life.
We destroy cancer cells using targeted radiation, while maximally protecting healthy tissues.
Depending on the case, hormone therapy or chemotherapy may be recommended, accompanied by comprehensive care and medical follow-up.
